Fr. Drummond was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on December 10, 1977. After living in Baton Rouge and Jackson, Mississippi, Fr. Drummond’s family moved up north to Dixon, IL, where he was baptized at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at age 12.
After a year in Dixon, he and his family moved to Geneseo, IL where they settled for good. Fr. Drummond graduated from Geneseo High School, attended Blackhawk College, and then Illinois State University from which he graduated with a degree in Music in 2001.
Fr. Drummond attended Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin, and graduated with honors in 2004. He was ordained Deacon in November of 2003 and Priest on June 5, 2004. Since then he served in various capacities in the Diocese of Quincy, including Diocesan Missioner for Youth Ministry, Vicar of Christ Church, Limestone, IL, and Rector of St. George’s Church in Macomb, IL. He also served the Diocese as a member of Diocesan Council, and for three years served as Chaplain to the Diocesan medical mission to the Dominican Republic. Fr. Drummond is a member of Forward in Faith North America and the Society of the Holy Cross (SSC).
Fr. Drummond has remained active in youth ministry as a spiritual director for Happening, The Episcopal Church Camp of Illinois (Dioceses of Quincy and Springfield), and faculty member for the St. Michael’s Conference for Youth (both in Michigan and Texas). He has also been active in the work of Renewal in Christ Ministries (based in East Moline, IL) and various healing missions and programs in the Diocese of Quincy.
Fr. Drummond was called to be Rector of St. Stephen’s, Hurst, in April 2009 and will begin his duties in June.
He and his wife, Sarah, were married on July 28, 2001. They have two children: Morgan (6) and Benjamin (4).
Outside of the Church, his interests include music, reading, writing, aviation, hiking, and biking.
